Philip Hunkin BSc FCA - philiphunkin@wbv.ltd.uk
Philip was born in Neath and educated at Neath Boys’ Grammar School and Imperial College. He joined Mann Judd (later Touche Ross, now Deloitte) in 1976.
After qualifying in 1980 and spending some time in the firm’s insolvency department he joined Watkins Bradfield & Co becoming a partner in 1984.
His experience is as a General Practitioner with clients ranging from companies in the construction industry turning over many millions per annum through professional service businesses to the traditional corner shop. He enjoys assisting clients in the development of their businesses.
Philip's hobbies include travel and golf and he also takes an active role in the local community.
Philip is a past president of the South Wales Society of Chartered Accountants and is a former High Sheriff of West Glamorgan.
David Rowe BA ACA - davidrowe@wbv.ltd.uk
David was born in Morriston and educated at Bishop Vaughan RC School and Brighton Polytechnic, where he studied Accountancy and Finance. He signed a training contract with Watkins Bradfield & Co in 1989 and qualified in 1992.
He joined Coopers and Lybrand in their Swansea office in 1994 and worked in the audit and accountancy department before returning to Watkins Bradfield & Co. He became a partner in 1998. He has a broad portfolio of clients covering all sizes and types of business.
Away from work David plays golf and enjoys watching all sports.
Rylan Lopez FCCA, ACA - rylan@wbv.ltd.uk
Rylan joined WBV in 1998, bringing with him experience gained as an auditor at PricewaterhouseCoopers, and as the financial controller of a UK subsidiary of one of the largest Japanese manufacturing companies.
He provides specialist advice on systems, corporate finance, taxation and strategic planning.
During his three years at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Rylan worked in the Business Service Section of the Audit Team, advising both smaller businesses and Blue Chip Stock Exchange listed clients.
Rylan undertook several ad-hoc assignments, including preparing a prospectus for a UK-based company to do a reverse takeover in America and aim for a NASDAQ listing, as well as various impromptu projects on a number of subsidiaries of Blue Chip companies.
Following his time at PricewaterhouseCoopers, he spent 18 months as the financial controller and company secretary for the UK base of one of the largest Japanese manufacturing companies.
From this, Rylan gained substantial experience of working in industry and understanding of the requirements of a business from within rather than as an external advisor. He also acquired tremendous knowledge of import, export, foreign currency risk and the various reporting requirements for both Japanese and European legislation.
His client portfolio features companies of all sizes and from all sectors, including care homes, builders’ and timber merchants, property and warehousing, and registered charities.
A key priority for Rylan is to establish clients’ goals, and he enjoys working with people who welcome proactive advice and are open to ideas, to help them operate more effectively and achieve those goals.
He is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

Stuart joined Watkins Bradfield & Co in 2001 and qualified in 2002 after gaining experience in a number of small local practices. He was invited to join the partnership in 2005.
Stuart specialises in providing services to principally owner managed businesses, of all sizes. His aim is to provide a high level of service across a range of Compliance and Support services, Consultancy, Taxation and Business Start-Up’s to help his clients to reach better decisions towards achieving their aspirations.
Away from work Stuart is a governor of a local Welsh Medium Primary School and enjoys playing golf, participating in country pursuits, and spending time with his family.
